Next Book Club will be Aug 19th at 1:00 PM at Laura Farish's home. The Woman in White, an early example of the mystery genre by Wilkie Collins is the book to read.

Last chance to contribute to the DI back to school drive will be next Sunday. Gather those backpacks, red pens and pencil sharpeners for those who need help getting their children ready to have a great school year!

Today's lesson was by Nicole Hill, our Teaching for Our Times teacher. She presented the talk Honorably Hold a Name and Standing by Elder Bednar. It was one of several talks during April conference that emphasized the importance of the temple to the Plan of Salvation. It is within the walls of the temple, through the temple covenants that we actually take upon ourselves the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Temple covenants offer protection from the adversity that is an inevitable part of the world we live in. As Joseph Smith prayed in the dedicatory prayer of the Kirtland Temple, honorably holding a name and a standing in the house of the Lord will bring us blessings for time and all eternity, Temple worship is the source of the powers of godliness and the key to attaining eternal life.

Have a great week and we will see you in August!
