Sunday update - Adversity

Only one more week in August! Summer has gone so fast.

Today's lesson was based on the talk Adversity by Henry B. Eyring of the First Presidency given by Nicole Hill. President Eyring begins by emphasizing that adversity will come to everyone here in mortality. No matter how righteous one may be, adversity will touch every life. It is how we deal with it that is the important thing, becauseit has purpose in the plan of salvation set forth by a loving Heavenly Father and his Beloved Son to enable us togain experience that will qualify us to receive the greatest of all the gifts: eternal life. Though not all adversity is atest from Heavenly Father, but often comes because of the misuse of agency by others, or natural circumstances, how we endure it and what we take away from the experiences it gives us, will work together for our good. Be-cause of the Atonement of Jesus Christ we do not have to carry the burden alone but have One who has alreadyexperienced our pain and knows how to comfort and sustain us throughout our adversity if we will come unto Him.
