Relief Society, which has the responsibility "to look after the spiritual welfare and salvation… of all the female members of the Church, was organized to provide 'relief of the poor, the destitute, the widow, and the orphan, and for the exercise of all benevolent purposes.' This includes 'relief of poverty, relief of illness, relief of doubt, relief of ignorance; relief of all that hinders the joy and progress of woman.' " - Julie B. Beck

Sunday Report

Sunday's lesson was combined with the Priesthood brethren and was graciously led by Brother Scott Campbell with the results of a survey on what prevents us from attending the temple regularly.

We sometimes feel we don't get anything out of going to the temple, but many people shared that by going anyway, slowly it became more meaningful. We can also go simply out of service to those beyond the veil, in a work that can only be done by us on their behalf.

A talk by President David O. McKay was referenced and the link is included below. We invite you to read this talk, ponder what it means in your life and temple experiences you have had.
The time for further discussion was all too short and we will expand on this topic next Sunday.

The temple is a place of peace and love. We can receive inspiration and revelation for our own benefit and that of our loved ones. Please free to share helps and ideas that have made a difference in your life and how we can prepare for our annual Sisters In White coming in October.
