Relief Society, which has the responsibility "to look after the spiritual welfare and salvation… of all the female members of the Church, was organized to provide 'relief of the poor, the destitute, the widow, and the orphan, and for the exercise of all benevolent purposes.' This includes 'relief of poverty, relief of illness, relief of doubt, relief of ignorance; relief of all that hinders the joy and progress of woman.' " - Julie B. Beck

Sunday Report

The lesson for this week was Chapter 18 of the Gospel Principles book, Faith in Jesus Christ, given by Traci Cline. This faith is the first principle of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and therefore essential for our salvation. Faith is a principle of action. and the power that motivates our daily lives. It is a strong belief of truth within our souls and to have faith in Jesus Christ means to trust in Him and therefore to obey whatever He commands. Since he has commanded that we repent of our sins, that is the next step that with faith, allows us to make His Atonement fully effective in our lives. We must seek to increase our faith in Christ through study and prayer and sincere desire and whatever actions are necessary to help us be more worthy and obedient. When we have done all that we can to prepare ourselves and become worthy, the spiritual gift of faith will be ours, with the attendant blessings of miracles and help that we need.

Next Weeks lesson will be TFOT by Peggy Campbell. She will be discussing Watching with All Perseverance by Elder David A. Bednar

Have a good week and do not forget the Women's Broadcast! Also any canned goods for the food bank would be appreciated.
