Sunday Report

ArtBook__033_033__JesusPrayingWithHisMother_Sm___ The lesson given was Chapter 11, The Life of Christ, and Sharon Pringle presented this over view of the Savior's life. The lesson began with the statement that every person who comes to the earth depends on Jesus Christ to fulfill the promise He made in heaven to be our Savior. Without Him, the plan of salvation would have failed. Prophets from Adam to HIs birth foretold His coming, and those after proclaimed the miracle of His life and mission. He was the only begotten of the Father in the flesh, yet He also inherited from His earthly mother, Mary, mortality which made him subject to pain, fatigue, hunger and death that He might prepare to make the infinite Atonement including giving up His mortal life that He might overcome death for all who ever came to earth. The life He lived was a perfect example for us to follow, as He taught us how to love and serve others. He organized the only true church and commanded that the gospel be taught to people all over the earth. His sacrifice was the perfect combination of love and obedience, as He came to earth to do the will of His Father and to ransom each one of us from death and sin and enable us to receive, through obedience, all that the Father hath. Sharon then asked Sister Peterson to share some of her feelings about the experience of the Peterson family on Thursday and how her knowledge of the Savior helped in that time of extreme crisis. As she told of the horrific experience as they struggled to keep Charity safe, as they waited for help to come and to find a way to rescue both Charity and Jesse from the overwhelming current in the culvert, her testimony of the Lord and how He and the Father are mindful of each one of us, resounded. As she spoke of the time it took and the failed attempts to set the children free of the force of the water, she testified of the miracle of each piece of the solution being put into place and how Bishop Peterson was inspired to find the way to free them and the help and resources necessary were there at hand, including the Aid Cars that immediately whisked the children off to the emergency room. Her testimony of the divine help received underscored perfectly this beautiful lesson on the life of the Savior.
Next Week Traci Cline will teach Chapter 12, The Atonement

Have a great week!
