Relief Society, which has the responsibility "to look after the spiritual welfare and salvation… of all the female members of the Church, was organized to provide 'relief of the poor, the destitute, the widow, and the orphan, and for the exercise of all benevolent purposes.' This includes 'relief of poverty, relief of illness, relief of doubt, relief of ignorance; relief of all that hinders the joy and progress of woman.' " - Julie B. Beck

Sunday Report- Visiting Teaching Conference

"The sweetest experience I know in life is to feel the prompting and act upon it and later find out that it was the fulfillment of someone's prayer or someone's need.  And I always want the Lord to know that if He needs an errand run, Tom Monson (insert your name} will run that errand for  Him."  This quote from our Prophet is the essence of what visiting teaching should be.

Watchcare2

The concept of watchcare is the heart of true visiting teaching.  If we will diligently pray for our sisters, to know their needs and to be in tune to ways of helping them, we are in the position to have that special feeling that President Monson is describing.  As Cedar River Ward Sisters we are trying to commit ourselves to be the kind of visiting teachers who are really on the errand of the Lord and making a difference in the lives of the sisters entrusted to our watchcare.  Visiting teaching is second only to our families in being the area where we can do the most good and have the most positive influence.  Let us all strive to be the best visiting teachers we can possible be for in so doing we will not only bless our sisters but also our families and ourselves and provide a legacy for our children of service and devotion to the Lord's work.

Sisters In White

It was also announced that the Cedar Ward Relief Society has scheduled a Sisters in White temple session where we would like as many sisters as possible to join together on Friday, Oct 1 for the 7:00 PM session or a baptismal session.  Mark the date and be sure your recommend is current.  If you do not currently have a recommend, make it a goal to receive it in time to join in the activities of the evening.  Encourage sisters on your route to prepare themselves to join with us in this sacred work.
We appreciate all the work you do in serving one another and being the visiting teachers you are.  We are challenging each of us to become even better at this most important work.  It will be exciting to see the blessings come into the lives of the sisters who serve and the sisters who receive the service.  Cedar River can in very deed become Zion people.
Have a great day and be sure to report your VT for Jan to your supervisors.
