Sunday Update

Sisters

Now that there will be no more announcements in Sacrament Meeting, R. S. will be an even more important source of information and we will try to include as much as possible to keep everyone informed!

Welcome to Melody Metts and her daughter Jessica Scalese who have moved into the Wheiler home. Jessica and husband have just finished at BYU Idaho and the Metts' are most recently from Singapore and Seattle 1st Ward.

Today's lesson was Family: The Sweetest Union for Time and Eternity was given by Traci Cline. The lesson discusses the concept of eternal marriage (D&C 132) taught by the Prophet Joseph Smith including the necessity of a husband and wife being sealed by the power of the holy priesthood, to attain exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom. Through faithfulness to the covenant of eternal marriage, families can be worthy to be together forever, perpetuating the most important relationships of mortality into eternity. Traci used The Family: A Proclamation to the World, to remind us of the importance that the Lord places on our earthly family units and how we can live together that we might be able to be reunited beyond the veil to enjoy eternity together. This document was given by the Lord's spokesmen on earth not just to the Latter-day Saints but to the entire world to clarify concepts that are obvious to those with the fulness of the gospel but which have been lost or abandoned by many in the world. It states that we are literally sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father who loves us and desires our eternal happiness which can only be complete in eternal family units. Take time this week to review both the lesson Chapter 42, and the Proclamation on the Family. This will give you a renewed love for your family and determination to live to be worthy to be together forever.

Next Week Lesson 41 Becoming Saviors on Mount Zion will be given by Jennifer Walker, our newest Relief Society teacher.

Hope to see you at Terrific Tuesday, even if you can only come for a short time. Have a great week. The Relief Society Presidency
