Sunday Update

Dear Sisters,
Hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather on this long holiday weekend.

Today's Teaching for Our Times lesson was taught by Sister Merrily Seeley, substituting for new mom Nichole Hill.  Sister Seeley presented The Power of Covenants by Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve.  He taught that the faith and spiritual strength necessary to cope with the events which will enter all of our lives in the last days will come through making and keeping covenants with our Heavenly Father.  Blessings and faith and the "power of Godliness" will come as we make and faithfully keep sacred covenants, especially those we make and renew in the holy temple.  "Divine covenants make strong Christians.  I urge each one to qualify for and receive all the priesthood ordinances you can and then faithfully keep the promises you have made by covenant.  In times of distress, let your covenants be paramount and let your obedience be exact.  Then you can ask in faith, nothing wavering, according to your need, and God will answer.  He will sustain you as you work and watch.  In His own time and way He will stretch forth his hand to you, saying,'Here am I.' "  Elder D. Todd Christofferson. Thank you Sister Seeley for a great lesson.
Next Sunday we will all be meeting together for a fifth Sunday presentation by the Relief Society.  We are looking forward to joining with those of you who usually are serving in Primary, Young Women or the Library.
