Sunday Report

Today's lesson was Chapter 5, The Creation given by Jennifer Walker.  She underscored the importance of this pivotal event by pointing out that the creation, along with the fall and the atonement form the three pillars of eternity. All are essential in Heavenly Father's plan for his children which would bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of his beloved spirit children.  Each pillar contributed to the process that will allow each of us to fulfill the measure of our creation.  The creation was necessary so that we would have a place to come and receive our mortal bodies and be away from our Heavenly Father so that we might prepare to become like Him.  This could not be accomplished unless we left His presence.  By creating this earth, and worlds without number through His Only Begotten Son,  first spiritually and then physically, God was expressing not only His love for each of his spirit children, but also His confidence that we would be able to be obedient and use wisely the precious gift of agency which He gave us, knowing that only through the righteous exercise of that agency could we grow to be like Him and qualify for the gift of eternal life that He so very much wants each of us to attain.  The beauty of the earth and the wonder of this mortal body which we have been given, combined with the richness of the varied experiences that make up mortal life, all testify to the infinite love that our Father has for each one of us.  Even the trials and the adversity speak to His desire for us to become more wise and patient and in reality even as He  is, that we might be prepared for the work of eternity in His presence.
As spring nudges its way into the world, look around you and enjoy the beauty and the wonder of new life that testifies of His love for us and gives us but a taste of the marvels of that eternal world that will be our home if we desire and strive with all our heart to achieve it!
Have a great "green" week
