Sunday Report

Today's lesson was presented by Sister Nicole Hill, Teaching for Our Times instructor. She discussed the talk" To Acquire Spiritual Guidance," by Richard G. Scott, given at the Saturday morning session of October conference. Elder Scott discussed how, bu applying correct principles and being sensitive to the feelings that come, one will be able to receive spiritual guidance for every aspect of life. As we seek and strive to learn how to be led by the Spirit, we will experience much personal growth including increase in faith and ability to recognize and follow feelings prompted by the Spirit. In 1Nephi we are given an excellent example of a young man allowing himself to be led by the Spirit without knowing beforehand what he would do. In the process he accomplishes the will of the Lord by obtaining priceless scriptures to sustain a nation of chosen people that the Lord would lead to a choice land and bless and chasten through countless generations. Elder Scott used personal experiences he had with the Spirit and was taught and edified in his calling and personal life. Perfecting the ability to be guided by the Spirit requires patience and faith and willingness to maintain righteousness through repentance. Praying with fervor and humility and gratitude one can learn to by constantly guided by the Holy Spirit in all aspects of life. What greater blessing could one seek.

Have a great week and a spooky sweet Halloween.

Next Week Sister Vach will be presidency message.
