Relief Society, which has the responsibility "to look after the spiritual welfare and salvation… of all the female members of the Church, was organized to provide 'relief of the poor, the destitute, the widow, and the orphan, and for the exercise of all benevolent purposes.' This includes 'relief of poverty, relief of illness, relief of doubt, relief of ignorance; relief of all that hinders the joy and progress of woman.' " - Julie B. Beck

Sunday Report

Today our newest teacher Jennifer Walker, gave her first lesson, Joseph Smith #41 Becoming Saviors on Mount Zion. She began by sharing information about the facility especially designed to ensure the safety of all of the information that has been gathered by members in their efforts to identify their kindred dead. Probably unequaled anywhere on earth, the fortress within the granite mountain is designed to protect this precious information from destruction from any natural or man made catastrophic event. The greatest responsibility in this world that God has laid upon us is to seek after our dead. The doctrine of salvation for the dead underscores the greatness of divine compassion and benevolence which extends to all who have not committed the unpardonable sin, regardless of where or when they lived upon the earth. We have been given the responsibility and blessing of bringing those precious names to the temple so that the saving ordinances can be performed and the spirits, if they accept the gospel and the work done in their behalf. can be allowed to progress on the other side of the veil and receive all that the Father hath. In doing this work we become saviors on Mount Zion and progress toward perfecting our own spirit through service and sacrifice. This is the divine plan that we all accepted in the Grand Council in Heaven and this was part of the covenant we made before we came here.

Next week Nicole Hill will be presenting the talk given by Richard G Scott.

Have a great week!
